Lawrence "Larry" Langdon, Sr.,88, formerly of North East, passed away Sunday June 16, 2024. He was born in Erie on February 26, 1936 a son of the late Warren G. and Dorothy R. Knickerbocker Langdon.
Larry served in the United States Marine Corps and worked at Hamot Medical Center for 26 years before retiring in 2001. He was a member of the East Erie Turners, past president of the Erie Chapter of PA Credit Union Association, former vice president of the Hamot FCU, and was a cub scout master and boy scout unit commissioner. He enjoyed fishing.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Lawrence "J.R." Langdon, Jr.; his grandson, Jack Armbruster; three sisters, Pauline Karle, Helen Langdon, and Doris Hengelbrok; and one brother, Howard E. Langdon.
Survivors include one son, Richard Langdon and his wife, Mary Beth, of Allison Park, PA; one daughter, Tammy Armbruster, of Erie; three grandchildren, Adam and Nicholas Langdon and Ellen Armbruster (Dalton Hollingsworth); two great grandchildren, Harper and Henley; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Russell C. Schmidt & Son Funeral Home Inc., 5000 Wattsburg Rd., on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 12 noon. Burial will be private in Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to The Muscular Dystrophy Association, 120 E 2nd St 3rd Floor, Erie, PA 16507.
