A longtime resident of New Iberia, Lawrence "Larry" Andrus was born in Pensacola, Florida on April 8, 1954, to the late Andrew and Marguerite Julia Guilbeau Andrus. He was a 1973 graduate of New Iberia Senior High, and furthered his education at USL.
Larry made a significant contribution to the oil and gas industry, where he served as a Facilities and Environmental Manager. His expertise and dedication were matched only by the warmth he brought into the lives of his colleagues and friends. He also used his creativity and craftsmanship by doing upholstery work with his good friend, Jeff.
Larry was a talented handyman and was affectionately known as a "Jack of all trades." His willingness to lend a hand and support others was evident throughout his life, earning him the heartfelt respect and admiration of friends and family. Larry loved photography, capturing moments that often went unseen, preserving memories that would last a lifetime.
Larry's youthful spirit endured into adulthood; he actively volunteered with the Boy Scouts of America, where he earned the prestigious Eagle Scout Award. This honor, significant in the scouting community, reflected his leadership and commitment to guiding the next generation. He was deeply passionate about animals and was known as an animal lover, finding joy in the companionship that they offered.

Broussard; brother-in-law, Bart Broussard and wife, Beth; and numerous nieces and nephews.
