Lawrence Edward Mihalek, a devoted resident of Dryden, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at the age of 72.
Lawrence, born on January 22, 1953, in Detroit, Michigan, joined his mother at Bundy Tubing as a millwright. He dedicated over 30 years to the company before retiring.
He is survived by his loving family, including Michelle Woodward, Andy (Andrea) Hicks, David Mihalek, and Danielle (Robert) Zaiki; and his grandchildren, John Halbert, Ashlee Halbert, Tyler Hicks, Caleb Hicks, Drew Hicks and Noah Zaiki. His family also includes his former wife, MaryAnn Mihalek. Though divorced, MaryAnn remained a steadfast and supportive presence in his life and provided exceptional care during his extended illness. In his final months, his thoughts were focused on her well-being, a true testament to their enduring bond.
Lawrence was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Antoinette Mihalek; his sister, Barbara (Ronald) Dorosz; and his loyal dog and companion, Bear, who passed earlier this year.
Lawrence was a man of quiet strength, known for his devotion to providing for his family, a commitment that was absolute. He took great pride in his work and found solace and joy in spending time outdoors, particularly tending to his garden. He leaves behind a legacy of tireless hard work and a quiet, stoic devotion to his family—a man who proved his love not through words, but through the sacrifices he made to ensure those he cared for were always provided for. He will be dearly missed.
Funeral services will be held Thursday December 18, 2025, 10:00AM at St. John Allenton (883 Capac Rd, Allenton, MI 48002).
