Passed away unexpectedly September 28, 2024 at age 65. He is predeceased by his parents Lawrence & Ruth Minch and brother Dennis Minch.

He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Linda, son PJ (Lori) Minch, daughter Nicole Minch; grandchildren Arianna, Caleb, Caroline ( CiCi), Levi, and PJ Jr.; brother David (Terri) Minch; sister-in-law Francine Minch. Scott (Cheryl) Peters and many nieces and nephews and his dog Shadow!

Larry was proud to be stay-at-home dad until his own children went to school full time in the district. He was already coaching football in Hilton when Debbie Lipani talked him into applying for a job in the district. That is when he began working at Merton Williams, where he remained until he retired in 2021.

Larry had an amazing way of finding the good in all students and helping them believe in themselves. He never gave up on pushing them to success, even when they did not want him to. Many have reached out over the years to thank him and tried to credit him for their success, but he was always quick to point out that he just pushed them, but they did all the work to make it happen.

Even though he retired from the Hilton School District he continued to coach freshman football. He was proud to be part of Hilton’s amazing coaching family lead by Rich Lipani. Larry strived to ensure that each of his players learned not only the game, but the importance of teamwork, strong work ethic, and most importantly, character. He developed lifelong relationships with many of the athletes.

Larry loved being retired and being able to spend the winters in Florida with his wife. He also enjoyed spending time here with all of his grandchildren, and watching them play various sports. This past summer he and his wife spent time coaching Caleb’s 6-8 year old baseball team, and had more fun than they could have imagined.

Larry did not worry about titles, fancy cars, clothes, or making millions. He was incredibly happy being a husband, father, papa, brother, uncle, and a friend. Family and friends were his wealth, and he was rich!!!

Larry will be missed, but never forgotten!

If you are attending his service, at the funeral home or church, please consider wearing your everyday clothing. (favorite team shirt, hoody, jersey, shorts) For all who knew him, wearing a shirt and shorts was his attire, summer or winter!
