Lawrence Murillo

Our loving son, Lawrence Douglas Murillo, passed away on December 1, 2024, at the incredibly youthful age of forty-five. He was born to Michael and Maria Murillo on September 30, 1979, in the City of Miami, Florida. Lawrence came to the Fayetteville, Ft Liberty, and Spring Lake areas when he was four years old. He grew up like any other "military brat" in the area, but in his teenage years, he suffered a series of setbacks. Out of these setbacks emerged the man Lawrence had become. He was known for his kindness, humility, and being a great parent to his son. Lawrence understood that to be there for La'Near, he had to improve his own situation. To this end, Lawrence earned his high school equivalent degree, continued his education, and received an Associate of Applied Science Degree, going on to become one of the most trusted associates of his employer. Lawrence is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Daisy and Ishmael Murillo, and his uncle, Wayne Murillo. He is survived by his son; La'Near Murillo, his parents; Maria Murillo of Spring Lake, NC, and Michael Murillo and his stepmother; April Murillo of Jacksonville, Florida, his siblings; Jackelin Curry of Maryland and Ishmael Murillo, his aunts; Alda Bevans (James), Jessica Murillo-Reddy (Tagen), and Karen Murillo of Miami, Florida, his maternal grandmother; Eblin West-Blake, Amir Curry; his one and only nephew, his maternal aunts; Yolanda Blake, Elena Bahena, and his maternal uncles; Ricardo Blake, Roger Blake, Rodolfo West-Gonzales, Hildebrando West-Gonzales, and Octavio West of Panama City, Panama, as well as a host of cousins and close friends. Now that our dear beloved son is gone, remember how he lived and the strength he exhibited. His challenges were never used as a crutch for him, and his incredibly positive outlook was a testament to that.
