Obituary published on Legacy.com by Carlisle-Branson Funeral Service & Crematory on May 12, 2024.

Lawrence John Schroder Jr., 55, of Mooresville, departed this world on Saturday, May 11, 2024 while in the care of IU West Hospital in Avon.  John, as he preferred and how most knew him, was born on August 23, 1968 in Fort Carson, Colorado to the late Lawrence John Schroder and Katherina Edeltrud (Bamberger) Schroder Miller.

Throughout his life, John wore many hats and made a significant impact in various roles. He worked as a maintenance engineer at St. Vincent Hospital and St. Francis Hospital, showcasing his dedication to serving others. His commitment to the community extended further when he served as a Police Officer in New Pointe and mentored young athletes as an umpire for Mooresville Baseball.  Most recently, he worked for Damar as an electrical and maintenance engineer.

John graduated from North Decatur High School before pursuing his passion for Electrical Engineering at Purdue University, where he earned his Bachelor's degree.

Beyond his professional achievements, John will be remembered for the love and devotion he showed towards his family. Some of the fondest memories cherished by those who knew him best revolve around the precious moments spent with his loved ones, especially his children. John's love knew no bounds, and his legacy will live on through the values he instilled in his family. In his leisure time, John found solace in simple pleasures such as fishing and cheering on his favorite football teams.

He is survived by his loving family members and friends who will carry his memory in their hearts forever including his wife, Amanda Schroder of Mooresville; sons, Aaron (wife, Taylor) Schroder of Greensburg, Alex Schroder of Martinsville, Tyler Schroder of Martinsville, Logan Schroder of Mooresville, and Parker Schroder of Mooresville; daughters, Isabella Schroder of Mooresville and Shannon Schroder of Greensburg; stepchildren, Damon Pickard of Mooresville and Tabytha Sandlin of Mooresville; and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence Schroder; mother, Katherina Miller; stepfather, William Miller Sr.; and brother, Will Miller.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Thursday, May 16th from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm in the chapel at Carlisle-Branson Funeral Service & Crematory in Mooresville.  John’s Life Celebration® Service will follow, beginning at 6:00 pm at the funeral home.
