LAWRENCE RAY SCIACCA, JR.
May 3, 1952 - October 19, 2025
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Lawrence Ray Sciacca, Jr. (Larry), who passed away peacefully on October 19, 2025, at the age of 73. Larry was born on May 3, 1952, and was a lifelong resident of Colorado Springs, where he made a lasting impact both professionally and personally.
A talented plumber by trade, Larry worked on numerous commercial buildings throughout Colorado Springs. His craftsmanship and attention to detail were evident in every project he completed, and he earned the respect and admiration of his colleagues and clients alike.
Outside of work, Larry was a man of many passions. He was an avid outdoorsman, spending countless hours hunting and fishing in the beautiful Colorado wilderness. His favorite memories were made on camping and hunting trips, where he enjoyed pursuing deer and elk with friends and family.
Larry also had a great love for woodworking. He spent many hours in his workshop creating beautiful, handmade gifts for his loved ones. His talents were appreciated by all who received his thoughtful creations.
A devoted sports fan, Larry was an unwavering supporter of the Denver Broncos and the Denver Nuggets. He rarely missed a game, always cheering on his teams with the same passion and enthusiasm that defined his life.
Larry was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence Sciacca, his mother, Sarafena Sciacca, and his sister, Betty Ann.
He is survived by his sister Sarah Kay Murr (David Murr), brother Mark Sciacca (Bonnie Sciacca), nephew George C. Mattorano (Leslie), niece Bridgette Cantu (Raul), nephew Jeremy Mattorano, niece Briana LaFollette (Chris), niece Becky Yeager, niece Sarah Burke and great-nieces and nephew: Megan Mattorano, Adelynn Cantu, Ryan Mattorano, Lila LaFollette, and Kaedyn Burke. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
A celebration of Larry's life will be held on November 9th at 1:00PM at Patty Jewett Golf Course, 900 E Esponala St., Colorado Springs, CO 80907. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, 5705 Grant Creek Road, Missoula, MT 59808 - (406) 523-4500.
