Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, P.A.Lawrence Alfred Scott, Jr., fondly known as Larry, passed away on September 5, 2025, in Glen Burnie, Maryland, at the age of 70. Born on September 29, 1954, in Baltimore, Maryland, Larry was a loving husband and dedicated family man.
Larry served his country with distinction in the United States Army, embodying the values of commitment and service. Following his military career, he made a significant impact as a computer technician, where his technical skills and problem-solving abilities were greatly appreciated by his colleagues and clients alike.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Larry had a creative spirit that shone through his hobbies. He took great pleasure in creating intricate stained glass artwork and engaging in woodworking. His craftsmanship not only brought him joy but also adorned the lives of those around him. Larry cherished the time spent at the beach, where he found solace and relaxation, creating lasting memories with family and friends.
Larry's legacy will live on through his loving family. He is survived by his devoted wife, Sheila L. Scott; beloved mother, Evelyn E. Scott; loving son, Lawrence A. Scott III and his wife, Amanda Millhouse; loving daughter, Malinda Scott; cherished granddaughter, Alyson Millhouse; caring brother, Craig S. Scott; and his dear sister, Lisa Marie Scott. He was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence A. Scott, Sr., and his sister, Connie D. Scott.
Larry will be remembered for his kindness, dedication, and creative spirit. He leaves behind a remarkable legacy that will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing him. His presence will be deeply missed, but his memory will forever remain in the hearts of his family and friends.
Family and friends are invited to gather at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Services, PA, 1 2nd Avenue, SW (at Crain Highway), Glen Burnie, MD 21061 on Thursday, September 18th from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 6:00 to 8:00 PM. A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held on Friday, September 19th at 10:00 AM in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville.
