Lawrence Carl Spicer

Lawrence Carl Spicer, 77, passed away Wednesday, June 14, 2017, at his home. He was born in Gaston County, N.C. on March 9, 1940 to the late Willie and Lois Pearl Carson Spicer. Lawrence was a retired machinist with T&W Textile Machine in Clover, SC. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. He will be greatly missed by all. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 57 years, Gaynell Miller Spicer; sons Mark Spicer and wife Sandy and Phillip Spicer; grandsons, Kaleb, Kody and Keagan Spicer; brother, Claude Spicer and wife Rose; sister, Beulah Mae Edwards and husband Maurice; numerous nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by a brother, Beuford Spicer, and a sister, Bonnie Dills. The family will receive friends from 6:30-8:00 pm Monday at Sisk-Butler Funeral & Cremation Services in Bessemer City. The funeral service will be at the funeral home on Tuesday at 2:00 pm with Rev. Clint Spicer and Pastor Matt Lewis officiating. Interment will follow at Westview Gardens in Bessemer City. Pallbearers are Chip Edwards, Tim Spicer, Eric Spicer, David Henry, Mark Pruitt and Kaleb Spicer.
