Lawrence E. Taylor, beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at the age of 82. He was born on June 11, 1943, in Boston, Massachusetts.

He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, a testament to his lifelong dedication to service and community. His professional journey included roles as a dispatcher for Red Star Express Lines in Rochester and a bus driver for Bluebird Tours. During his time in Florida, he also worked at the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.

A man of varied interests and commitments, he was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Attica. He was an active member of Vietnam Veterans of America, where he once served as Vice President. He was also a lifetime member of the American Legion. Larry served as Commander of Henrietta Post. He was also a member of the VFW, and a proud member of the Nims family Association.

Beyond his service and community work, Lawrence was an avid reader, trivia enthusiast, and passionate collector of coins and antiques. His home was filled with a vast collection of books, reflecting his lifelong love of learning.

He is survived by his loving children: Stephen (Cynde Stevenson) Taylor, Mary Ellen (Michael) West, and Lawrence Patrick (Deborah) Taylor. He was the proud grandfather of seven grandchildren: Charlene, Victoria, Michael, Matthew, Artie, Sawyer, and Lauren, and great-grandfather to Dean and Wes. He is also survived by his sister, Patricia Page, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence E. Taylor and Dorcas Nims Taylor, and his beloved wife, Marie A. Tyo Taylor, who passed away on December 27, 2021.

A funeral service to honor his life will be held at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, 11 Washington Street, Attica, NY, on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at 11:00 AM. Following the service, burial will take place at the Western New York National Cemetery, 1254 Indian Falls Road, Corfu, New York 14036, at 1:00 PM. Attendees are asked to assemble at the administration building by 12:45 PM. Following graveside services at the cemetery all are invited to the Beachhead Veterans Club, 3188 Broadway Road, Alexander, NY 14005.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Paul's United Church of Christ, 11 Washington Avenue, Attica, New York 14011, or to the Alexander Fireman's Band, PO Box 336, Alexander, New York 14005.
