Lawrence E. Thomas

Lawrence E. Thomas, 86, of 1570 Cherry Park Dr, Memphis, TN, died December 25, 2011 at Methodist Germantown from natural causes. Born July 24, 1925, in Memphis, TN, his parents were Aaron & Anna Thomas, and he was the brother of Sarah Belz, Nathan Thomas, Bessie Shainberg, Berta Loskove, and Dora Morris. He was preceded in death by his wife, Adelaine Thomas. He was a graduate of the Georgia Military Academy High School in Atlanta, GA, and began his business career in the dry goods business and became a real estate executive with Belz Enterprises, where he worked for fifty years. He is survived by his three daughters and their husbands: Adrian & Larry Weissman; Elyse and Larry Felder; Judy & Harold Wormser; his grandchildren, Jennifer & Joe Woodward, Brad Weissman, Jaclyn & Scott Strauss, and Seth Felder; and two great grandchildren, Jordan Strauss and Nathan Weissman. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 26, 2011 in the Sam Abraham Chapel at Baron Hirsch Cemetery. The family requests any donations be made to Baron Hirsch Congregation.
