Lawrence "Larry" W. Wright, 84, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2023, at his home surrounded by his loved ones.
Larry was born Oct. 23, 1939, in Henrietta, West Virginia. He was a former Marine and served during the Vietnam War. He and his wife, Trudy, shared a wonderful 52 years of marriage together. Larry dedicated 35 years to Ford Motor Company and in that time, developed a love of fixing and working on cars.
Larry loved being a grandpa. He enjoyed taking the kids to school and sometimes accidentally sending them to school in their pajamas. He was a family man and was always surrounded by family where they enjoyed his jokes and sarcastic sense of humor. Larry loved most animals, but most of all his beloved dog, Goober.
Larry is survived by his wife of 52 years, Trudy Wright; children, Melinda (Tim) Roth, Kimberly (William) Garwood, and Laura (Jeff) Roe; grandchildren, Haley (Brad Sullivan), Kylie, Natalie, Emily, and Bailey Roth, Evan and Garet Garwood, and Cade, Carson, Cooper, and Calli Roe; and siblings, Gary Bennett, Barbara Bennett, Karen Myers, Kathryn Gacek, and Karlene Ward.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Vermeal Bennett; and sister, Lorena Waits.
Visitation for family and friends will be 4 p.m. Monday, Dec. 18, 2023, until the time of Larry's funeral at 6 p.m. at Walker-Eastman-Heydinger Funeral Home, 98 West Main Street, Norwalk.
In lieu of flowers, you may send a donation to Huron County Humane Society, 246 Woodlawn Ave., Norwalk, Ohio, 44857.
