Lawrence Edward “Larry” Zembrodt, of Villa Hills, KY passed away surrounded by his loving family at his residence on Thursday, April 11, 2024, at the glorious age of 92. He was born in Covington, KY in 1931, the son of the late William E. and Loretta B. Zembrodt. Larry was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Crescent Springs, KY and retired as a line worker for General Motors. Growing up, Larry was gifted athletically, playing basketball for his alma mater Covington Catholic and as he continued in years, he played in several softball leagues around the area, and coached multiple youth sports. In his later years, Larry and Evie enjoyed the games of bowling, golfing in local mixed couple leagues and occasionally playing the “sit down” type casino games. He was a kind soul and had an infectious sense of humor. His greatest joy in life, hands down, came from spending time with his family whom he cherished deeply. Preceding Larry in death were his parents; his wife, Evelyn (nee Hoffman) Zembrodt; a daughter, Deborah Theissen and two brothers, Paul Zembrodt and Bill (wife, Alice) Zembrodt. Those left surviving to carry on Larry’s memory include his beloved children, Larry (Belle) Zembrodt, Jr., Steve Theissen (son-in-law), Greg (Nancy) Zembrodt, Barb (Dan) Lightner and Terrie (Dave) Bennett; sister-in-law, Alice Z. Moeller; loving grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; as well as other close relatives and friends. The family and friends are invited to celebrate Larry’s life on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, from 4:00 PM until the time of the Memorial Mass immediately following at 6:00 PM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 2470 Lorraine Ct, Crescent Springs, KY 41017. Larry was laid to rest and reunited with his loving wife, Evelyn, at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Floral Hills Funeral Home is assisting the family during this difficult time.
