Lay Khek

Lay Khek, age 95, of Fall River, passed away, Friday, March 25, 2016 at his residence surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Nourn Sorn to whom he has been married for over fifty years.
Born in Battambang, Cambodia, he immigrated to the United States in 1984 settling in Fall River.
While living in Cambodia, he was educated at the Temple School and worked as a heavy load hauler for a construction company who built roadways. Mr. Khek was a talented musician and enjoyed playing the ukulele. An avid gardener, he enjoyed sharing stories, telling jokes, and loved to be with his family.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons; Khek, Mono of Long Beach, California, Khek, Noum of Fall River, three daughters; Khek, Monica of Fall River, Khek, Kimlaryeen of Fall River, Khek, Sokha of Utica, New York and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Khek, Larth and Khek, Nhoeun and was also pre-deceased by many brothers and sisters.
Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2016 from 8:15 to 9:15AM in the Waring-Sullivan Funeral Home, 178 Winter Street, Fall River, followed by a Funeral Service at 10:00AM in the Chapel of Memory and Hope at Swan Point Crematory, 585 Blackstone Boulevard, Providence, Rhode Island. Relatives and friends invited.
