Lea Brunner Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Rone Funeral Service - Vineland on Jan. 25, 2023.
Lea Brunner passed away at home on January 24, 2023. Born on April 10, 1929, she grew up in France but immigrated to the United States in 1950 with her husband, Jacques and two infant sons Serge and Michael. They moved to Vineland, New Jersey because her husband had family living there.
She spent the rest of her life living in Vineland and completed her family with the birth of her daughter, Mimi, in Newcomb Hospital. Lea was the consummate homemaker. While she did have brief stints working outside the family, especially after becoming an empty nester, she excelled at being the matriarch of the family. An award-winning cook, the budget keeper of family finances, a fastidious housekeeper and the pen pal to all distant relatives and friends she maintained her relationships a priority throughout her life.
She lived a long and extraordinary life. A Holocaust survivor she survived to see her children all attain senior citizen status. She and her husband celebrated their 75th Diamond anniversary this past fall another high water mark not reached by many others. Until recently she enjoyed a vigorous life and during its entirety her family was always her primary joy.
Surviving Lea is her husband, Jacques Brunner and her children, Serge and wife Noel Brunner, Michael Brunner and Mimi and husband Kai Kaysen and her grandchildren, Jeremy and wife Randee Brunner and Jaime and husband Matthew Dauphinais, and her great-grandchildren, Jordan and Jared Brunner and Ethan Dauphinais. Also, she leaves behind a brother David Geler still living in France with her niece Cathy and her three grandnieces, Sarah, Rebecca, and Ornella.
A graveside service and burial was held on Wednesday, January 25, 2023 at Alliance Cemetery, 970 Gershal Ave, Norma.
