OBITUARY:
Leah Sandra Wolper, affectionately called Sandy by her loved ones, died peacefully at her home on Monday, October 7, 2024. Sandy was born in New Jersey on April 1, 1941 and was an identical twin to her late sister, Michele. Daughter of Dr. Jerome and Mrs. Harriet Reich, Sandy was a graduate of Hillside High School in 1959. Prior to her marriage, she was employed at CBS in New York City. She married her late husband, Lawrence Wolper on November 19, 1972 and they were married for almost 40 years before Lawrence's passing on May 5, 2012. Sandy took pride in her role as a wife and stay-at-home mother to her three children who always came first in her life. She was also a talented pianist and playing the piano gave joy to her and everyone around her.
Sandy is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Rachel and Michael Casey; her son Jason; her daughter Michelle; brother and sister-in-law Mel and Barbara Reich; brother Ira Reich; her grandchildren Luke, John and Matthew Casey, and Katherine and Christopher Lanier, along with several cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family.
A graveside funeral will be held at North Atlanta Memorial Park on Thursday, October 10, 2024, at 10:00 AM.
