Scott Yaffee Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Dressler's Jewish Funeral Care on Mar. 14, 2026.
Scott Mitchell Yaffee was born on March 30, 1964, and left us, in the most Scott way possible, on March 7, 2026. He was the son of the late Michael and Susan Yaffee. Over the years, Scott lived in New York, New Jersey, and Delaware, but spent most of his life in the Atlanta area.

A creative and talented artist since childhood, he was well known in the Horror community for his work both as an actor and as a makeup and special effects artist, working at Netherworld, Folklore and Containment Haunted Houses. He was featured in episodes of the first season of The Walking Dead, as well as the films Zombieland, Rob Zombie's Halloween II, The Blind Side, Due Date, Nightlight, Big Momma's House 3 and The Godd Couple. Scott was an accomplished photographer, who also drew, painted, created digital art, made jewelry and played the keyboard. He was a voracious reader and an unparalleled music collector. As a teen, he spent most weekends playing Riff Raff at the Rocky Horror Picture Show at the Silver Screen movie theater in Atlanta.

Scott was a graduate of Dunwoody High School and attended the University of Georgia and the University of Delaware. He was predeceased by his parents, Michael and Susan and grandparents, Paul and Hannah Mann and Louis and Molly Yaffee, as well as his kitty furbabies, Marcel and Delaine. He is survived by his sister, Jennifer Yaffee, best friend, Amy Goodman Abramson (Gary), his nephew, Noah Abramson and his cat, Jazz. The family wishes to thank his devoted caregivers/friends Ashley Harris and Tracy Traver, for the care and support given to both Scott and his family during this difficult time.

A memorial gathering will be held later this year. In lieu of flowers, donations in Scott's memory can be made to FurKids or No Longer Bound charities.
