LeAnn M. McClure, 57, of Onawa, Iowa, passed away peacefully Monday, June 6, 2016, at home surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with cancer. Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday, June 10, 2016 at the United Methodist Church in Onawa, Iowa, with Pastor Dennis Burns officiating. Burial will follow in the Onawa Cemetery. Visitation will be held 5:00 – 8:00 P.M. Thursday, June 9, 2016 at the Rush Family Chapel in Onawa. Arrangements are under the direction of Rush Family Care Service in Onawa. LeAnn Marie was born January 12, 1959 in Iowa Falls, Iowa, the daughter of Kenneth E. and Shirley (Stoner) Hansen. Following graduation from West Monona High School in Onawa, Iowa in 1977, she attended Western Iowa Tech Community College in Sioux City, Iowa. LeAnn and Robert McClure were united in marriage on October 25, 1976 at the First Christian Church in Onawa. They were blessed with three children, Bobbie, Shellie, and Michael. Following college, LeAnn worked at the post office in Turin, Iowa and as the Turin City Clerk for about twenty years. She also worked for the Onawa Democrat for ten years, Principal Financial Group as a claims processor for five years, and in the Monona County Auditor's Office for fifteen years. She had been promoted to Deputy Auditor before medically retiring in 2015. LeAnn was a member of the United Methodist Church in Turin. Her hobbies included scrapbooking, quilting, and attending her grandchildren's events. She greatly adored her grandchildren. She will be remembered by her sense of humor and contagious smile. Survivors include her husband of 40 years, Bob McClure of Onawa, IA; two daughters, Bobbie (Craig) Sherer of Onawa, IA and Shellie Anderson of Rosalie, NE; one son, Michael McClure of Aiea, HI; seven grandchildren, Xavier and Wyatt Sherer, Londyn and Elijah Nelson, Lauren Anderson, and Mali-Ann and Ansen McClure; her parents, Kenneth E. and Shirley Hansen of Turin, IA; one brother, Kelly D. Hansen of Onawa, IA; one sister, Sandy Mortensen of Onawa, IA; as well as several nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Holger and Florence (Shafer) Hansen; maternal grandparents, Ernest and Leta (Willson) Stoner; two brothers, Mark and Steve Hansen; one sister, Julie Hansen; and a son-in-law, Dan Nelson.
