Leanna Marie Bruschini

It is with great sadness that we share the news of Leanna's passing. After a 10-month valiant struggle, she lost her life to cancer, surrounded by her loving family and friends.
Leanna grew up in Oakland, CA, amid a strong, loving Italian family. She attended 12 years of Catholic school and received her Bachelor of Arts degree, from CA State University, Hayward.
Her career encompassed many jobs at large companies in the Oakland/ San Francisco area, in human resource and as a compensation analyst, where she made many lifelong friends.
For many years Leanna was on the board for The Bay Area Crisis Nursery, in Concord. Leanna lived in a Walnut Creek townhouse for over 40 years, where she served on the Board of Directors. As head of the landscape committee she was a driving force behind so many beautiful improvements for that community.
Leanna was an avid Oakland A's and Raiders fan. In her spare time, she enjoyed attending the "Speaker Series" at the Lesher Center, water aerobics at the YMCA in Pleasant Hill, gardening, and she was our family's trivia expert. Leanna was a "master" fudge maker, which many looked forward to receiving at Christmas time.
Leanna liked to travel; her favorite spots included, Italy, Alaska, the East Coast, New Orleans, and Mexico. She even attended Space Camp in Huntsville, Alabama. She enjoyed the ocean and many memorable sunsets in Hawaii and Aptos.
Leanna is preceded in death by her loving parents, Velma and Larry Bruschini. She will be greatly missed by her sister, Lorene Schmidt, brother-in-law, Rick, adoring nieces, Kelly and Julie, and nephew -in- law, Steve Randall. Leanna's great nieces, Kaitlyn and Alyssa, and her great nephews Ryan and Kyle, loved her to pieces. We cherished Leanna and she was a constant source of support and helpfulness in all our lives. Her memory will live on in our hearts.
A celebratory Mass will be held on Friday, July 11th, at 10:30am at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 1650 Ygnacio Valley Rd, Walnut Creek, CA. A reception to follow.
