Leanna Wright Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Palmer Funeral Homes - Guisinger Chapel on Jan. 26, 2026.
Leanna Lee Lanning Wright, a beacon of love and gentleness, was called home to the Lord on January 25, 2026, at the age of 56. Born on November 13, 1969, in Anderson, Indiana, Leanna's infectious smile and thoughtful nature touched the lives of everyone she encountered. She departed this earthly realm after a battle with pneumonia, leaving behind a legacy of warmth and devotion.

Leanna's life was a testament to the power of faith and family. She shared a blessed union with her beloved husband, Barry Andrew Wright, who stood by her as a pillar of strength and partnership. Together, they nurtured a family that embodied the love and grace that Leanna exuded. Her children, Maggie (Nathan) Fink, Taylor (Sarah) Wright, and Hannah (Adam) Pendl, were the pride of her life.

The joy of grandchildren filled Leanna's heart, and she cherished every moment with Peter and Patrick Fink; Lovelyn, Skyla, Blue, and Banner Pendl. Her role as a grandmother was one she embraced with immense joy and pride, leaving behind memories that her grandchildren will treasure as they walk through life.

Leanna's love extended to her dear sister, Lori Walters, with whom she shared an unbreakable bond. Her father, Donald Lanning, will remember his daughter as a shining example of love in action. She was a cherished aunt to her five nieces and seven nephews, each of whom held a special place in her heart.

Leanna leaves behind countless friends that she loved, cared for, and prayed for daily.

Leanna was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Inez Lanning.

Throughout her life, Leanna's Christian faith was her guiding light. She lived her beliefs in her daily actions, always putting others before herself and spreading kindness wherever she went. Her gentle spirit was a comfort to all, and her thoughtful words and deeds were the embodiment of the teachings of Christ.

Leanna's legacy will be felt for generations. Though her family and friends will miss her deeply, they find comfort in knowing she is at peace in the arms of her Savior. Leanna's life was a beautiful reflection of the virtues she cherished: love, thoughtfulness, and gentleness. As we remember Leanna Lee Lanning, we are reminded of life's preciousness and the lasting power of love. Her spirit will continue to guide and inspire those blessed to know her, and her memory will remain in many hearts as a testament to the beauty a life well-lived can create.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 30, 2026, at First Brethren Church, 4909 S. Ironwood Drive, South Bend, IN 46614. Friends may visit with the family beginning at 11:00am at the church.
