Union:
Services for Mr. Leavy Harold Rigdon will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, December 14, 2024 at Milling Funeral Home Chapel of Union. Bro. Rusty Walton will officiate.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to services.
Leavy Harold Rigdon, 79 of Decatur MS, entered the gates of heaven on 12/9/24 at St Dominic Hospital in Jackson MS.
Harold was born in Union MS, to Rufus and Clora Rigdon on October 25, 1945. Harold went to Decatur High School where he was an outstanding athlete who loved to play football, baseball and basketball. He graduated in 1965. After graduation he enrolled in the Army National Guard. He spent his working years on the ICG/ GM&O Railroad where he retired.
From a young age, Harold learned to love the outdoors. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, qualities that he passed down to his children and grandsons. He loved to play golf, spend time with his family and friends while sitting in his shop. He always took care of his family.
Harold is survived by his wife of 30 years Connie Sauer Rigdon of Decatur, a daughter Tammie Rigdon Edwards (Stacy) of Hattiesburg, a son Lee Rigdon (Mike) of Hattiesburg and a son Cody Rigdon of Decatur, a grandson Jacob Edwards (Chloe) of Richland, MS, a grandson Jackson Edwards of Hattiesburg, a brother Horace Rigdon (Ruby), a sister Lucille Rigdon Savell (Jobie) a great granddaughter Kendyl Edwards and numerous other family members, nieces and nephews.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents Rufus and Clora Rigdon, an infant daughter Melissa Dawn Rigdon, a brother-in-law Paul Boeckl and a niece Lisa Rigdon.
