Lee William Buzilow, 82, of Carlisle died Wednesday, Feb 4th 2026 surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Erich and Emma (Schuman) Buzilow and the husband of 61 years to Virginia (McGoldrick) Buzilow.
With love and gratitude for a life well lived, we remember a devoted husband, father, and friend whose presence meant so much to all who knew him.
He proudly served his country in the United States Army, carrying that sense of honor throughout his life. A man of strong faith, he was a devoted member of St. Stephen Lutheran Church where his faith guided his actions.
He dedicated most of his working life as a Corrections Officer at SCI Huntingdon, a role he carried out with responsibility, strength, and commitment.
In addition to his professional service, he gave back to his community as a member of both New Kingstown Fire Company and the McConnellstown Fire Company.
He had a lifelong love of classic cars and found joy in going on car rides. Some of his happiest moments were at Raystown Lake and going to the ocean with family.
Above everything else, he loved his family. His greatest joy was his beloved wife Virginia, with whom he shared 61 years of marriage-a beautiful partnership rooted in love, devotion, and unwavering commitment. His legacy lives through the love he gave, the jokes he told, and the many lives he touched.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters: Sandy (Douglas) Martin of Mechanicsburg and Michele (David) Smyers of Carlisle and his grandchildren: Karlee Martin, Kimberly Hess, Nathan Smyers and Benjamin Smyers.
Lee was preceded in death by his sister: Gloria Staie and his brother: Erich Buzilow Jr.
Lee will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 7, 2026 at St. Stephen Evangelical Lutheran Church, 30 West Main Street, New Kingstown, PA 17072.
