Lee Joyce Cunningham, age 91, of Biloxi, MS, passed away December 16, 2025 in Biloxi, MS.
Lee Joyce Cunningham was born February 17, 1934, in New Iberia, Louisiana to Claudias “Bill” William Romero and Clemontine Marie Boudreaux Romero. She was the last child of five including Lillie Mae Breaux, Alcide “Pompey” Romero, Inez Frentz, and Minus Romero. On December 26, 1955, she married Jack Cunningham from Trenton, NJ and had two children: son Glenn and daughter Lisa.
Joyce worked as a bookkeeper at KAFB BX and Pringle Ford dealership in Biloxi, MS. After marrying Jack, she became a loving mother and homemaker. After Jack’s retirement from KAFB civil service she joined him as a school crossing guard for the Biloxi Police Department and with Hallmark cards replenishing stock at local retail stores.
Joyce was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church for 63 years. She served as an Extra Ordinary Minister that ministered to local hospitals and nursing homes. She was a member of the Altar Society and the KC Ladies Auxiliary. In 2005 she received a Papal Blessing from Pope Benedict.
She is survived by her son, Glenn Cunningham of Biloxi MS and daughter Lisa (Chris) Jones of Gulfport MS; grandchildren, John (Tasha) Cunningham, Joey (Ashley) Cunningham, Lindsey (Mike) Dark, and Christa Jones; great-grandchildren, Laela Cuningham, Addison Cunningham and Beckham Cunningham. She is predeceased by her husband, Jack Cunningham, her parents Claudias “Bill” and Clemontine and her siblings, Lillie Mae, Alcide “Pompey”, Inez and Minus.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church where friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until Mass time. A reception will be held in Our Lady of Fatima Parish Hall immediately after the Mass. A private family burial will be held at the Biloxi National Cemetery at a later date.
