Lee Doux Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Rogers Mortuary - Las Vegas on Mar. 20, 2024.
Lee Le Doux, 83, of Ocate, passed away on March 15, 2024.
He was born on January 20, 1941 to Arturo Le Doux and Julia Sandoval in Turquillo, New Mexico.
He is survived by his wife, Nila Le Doux, Daughter Lorraine (Edmund) Becerra of Lubbock, TX, Son Jerry (Sandra) Le Doux of Las Vegas/Ocate, NM; Grandchildren, Jennifer Becerra (Pedro) of Lubbock, TX, Lee (Erika) Le Doux of Aurora, CO, Audry (Daniel) Webster of Ocate, NM, Erin Becerra (Nick) of Lubbock, TX; Great grandchildren Averie DeLeon of Lubbock, TX, Cody and Brandon Webster of Portales, NM, and Rio and Rylee Le Doux of Aurora, CO; and Brother Arturo Le Doux of Las Vegas, NM. As well as many niece, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his Mother Julia Le Doux, Father Arturo Le Doux, son Kenny Le Doux, siblings Luz Montoya (Epifanio), Fabiola Maestas (Alfonso), Louis Le Doux (Ernestina), Ramona Martinez (Arturo), Tillie Rudolph (Joe), Willie Le Doux (Celia), Margaret Grant (Henry), and sister in law Ema Le Doux.
Lee was known for being a hardworking and loving man. He drove a school bus for 34 years as well as maintained them during and after he retired. He was a local mechanic for Ocate, Wagon Mound and surrounding areas for many years. He was always willing to help anyone that stopped by in need of help, and he always took time to visit and catch up with them, whether he knew them forever or just met them.
In his free time he enjoyed working on the perfect upkeep to his yard. Working on cars and helping others with fixing everything from trucks, busses, cars, motorcycles, tractors and UTVs. He'd always take the time to teach you a little something along the way and always with patience. He loved his crosswords and solitary card game, watching Alaska's Last Frontier, Mountain Men and all the sorts. He went multiple times a day to Naranjos to check cows, feed and water them. Cut and block wood when the weather was nice and even sometimes when it wasn't just to have something to do for his day. He enjoyed maintaining the roads on the ranch by cutting trees or tossing rocks out of the way. He enjoyed spending the day with his wife picking pinon when the season came. He loved his Polaris Ranger or as he called it "La Mula" and everywhere he could get to in it, and even those places he shouldn't. But the smile on his face and chuckle when he realized where he was always made it worth it! He loved to sit and tell stories about his day or anything fun or funny from his past, loved hearing your stories too. He enjoyed giving everyone a hard time and make jokes where he could. He will be deeply missed and never forgotten by those that had the opportunity to know him, even if it was just for a short time.
Rosary service will be recited on Friday, March 22, 2024 at 6:00pm. Funeral mass will be conducted on Saturday, March 23, 2024 at 10:00am both services will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Ocate, NM.
