Harold Lee Ellison, age 83 of Unionville, Iowa, passed away on August 31, 2025 at the University of Iowa Hospital.

Lee was born on March 5, 1942 in Moulton, Iowa, the son of Harold and Wilma (Cornett) Ellison. He graduated from Oskaloosa High School. Shortly after high school Lee joined the United States Army. He served his country faithfully until his honorable discharge on April 30, 1970. He was proud to be a Veteran and for his service to our country.

After returning back from the military, Lee met and married the love of his life, Belva Cormeny. Together they loved and raised two children: Janiece and Brian. Lee loved spending time with his children, and especially grandchildren when they came along.

Throughout life Lee was a gun and knife collector. He also enjoyed arrowhead hunting and reading Louis Lamar westerns. In his younger years, he could be found on the softball field playing slow-pitch and fast-pitch. As he got older, he could be found loafing at Tim's Tire Shop in Unionville, catching up with the guys.

Lee is survived by his wife, Belva; children, Janiece (Mark) Douglas and Brian (Rochelle) Ellison; grandchildren, Nicholas Reese, Jalynn Douglas, Avery Douglas, Railee Ellison, Felecia Porter, and Blake Ellison; great-granddaughter, Autumn Chapman; sister, Carole (Leon) Shahan; stepsiblings, Wayne (Brenda) Boland, Jon (Patty) Boland, Lori Boland, and Dana Cameron, along with numerous extended family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Richard Ellison.

Visitation will take place Thursday September 4, 2025 at Thomas Funeral Home in Centerville with the family greeting friends from 5:00PM-7:00PM. Funeral services for Lee will be held at 10:30AM, Friday, September 5, 2025 at Thomas Funeral Home in Centerville with Pastor Kay Singley officiating. Military Rites will take place after the service in the funeral home parking lot. Cremation will follow, per Lee's wishes.
