In memory of

Mike and Beth Stevens
August 28, 2025
We just learned about Lee´s passing and send our sincere condolences to you from Lake Belle Taine. We spoke to a grandson last summer so knew he´d had some health issues. It´s just not the same without seeing lots of activity at your place. We wish you peace and comfort in the months ahead, Shari and family.

Lee & I worked together at DOT for many years. He was a special guy...smart & capable, a hard worker, always looking for ways to help & improve things, & fun to be around. We tackled many issues together over 25+ years and became friends along the way. What a great picture...it's just how I remember him. My sympathy to his family. Hope you find comfort in knowing Lee touched lots of lives in lots of ways and the world was a better place with him in it.

Dad, Mom and I really enjoyed getting to know Lee and the entire family while he resided at Sunnyview. We enjoyed Sherry´s help on the puzzle in the "puzzle room", eating lunch with them everyday, passing them in the hallways while we walked around and got our daily steps in, are some things we will miss. I didn´t know Lee before he was sick, but he sounded like an amazing man. He oftentimes laughed at our jokes or something Mom would do while having lunch. Thinking of all of you during this difficult time.

My sympathies to you, Shari, I worked at the DOT when Lee was there. He was always pleasant to talk to in the hallways or someone's office. He so friendly to all and had the same beautiful smile as shown in his photo.

Shari, daughters, and extended family members,
My heartfelt sympathies too each, and every one of you on the loss of your husband, dad, grandpa, and brother.
I knew Lee for decades at the DOT.
One morning I was zipping around traffic on grand Avenue. Later, I saw Lee in the hallway and he was telling me how much I looked like the racer scooting around people.
The woman's bathroom was right next to his office area, so I saw him very often daily interacting with people.
What an enlightening obituary that was where I learnedso much more about Lee especially about him being a water skier and certified diver. That surprised me.
I know with his memory loss issues you've been dealing with the last few years have been very trying/crying for each of you.
Lee is now finally healthy again and he'll find water up again to be doing his favorite things; don't you think, I do. Lol.
May God comfort each of you now and in the days, months, and years ahead.
If you have videos or cassettes with Lee on, make copies and put the original away or it will go bad with you playing it during the times when you need it most.
It's great hearing their voices, laughter, and watching their mannerisms with them being in the same room you are listening at.
SHARI, so glad you've joined our DOT women´s coordinator Got to talk to you when you gave us updates on Lee's health.
