Lee Jenkins Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Bridges Funeral Home on Feb. 16, 2026.
"Eddie" Lee Edward Jenkins, Jr. - age 71, of Luttrell, Tennessee, passed away on February 12, 2026. He was a Faithful Servant and Child of God.

Eddie attended Holston HS and served in the US Army from 1973 - 1977. He was a Certified Crane Operator for many years, just like his dad, helping build Bull Run Steam Plant. Eddie didn't learn to talk at an early age, he didn't have to, all he had to do was grunt and his siblings came running. At some point during his lifetime, he enjoyed Fishing, Hunting, Racing, and Motorcycles. He loved family times and days of retirement spent with his best & faithful friend, Freddie Hillard, and a host of all the racing buddies at Asheway Speedway where he and Freddie had a racecar and truck #74. His favorite Nascar driver for now, GO #5. He also did a little haphazard gardening on the side, LOL, ask Freddie! Eddie had an enormous "Heart" and was a Father figure to those that needed one and a friend to many! If he gave you a hard time, that was a sure sign you won him over.

Special Thanks to Thompson Oncology Group and UT Hospice for your care and support.

Eddie was preceded in death by parents, Lee E. Jenkins and Doris Jean Lawson Jenkins; and sister, Susan Jenkins.

He is survived by sisters, Joanne Simcox, Gale James Edwards, Frieda Jenkins, Cathy Jenkins, and Kay Ellis (Carl); brother, Tony Jenkins, and many loving nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM on Friday, February 20, 2026 at Bridges Funeral Home. Family and friends will gather at 12:45 PM on Saturday at Asbury Cemetery for a 1:00 PM Inurnment, with Pastor Dan Hillard officiating.
