Lee James Levitan passed away on September 27, 2025, just days after his 80th birthday. He fought a long and courageous battle with multiple physical and mental diseases. Preceded in death by parents, Sam and Libby Levitan; sister, Karen Levitan Walders; and in-laws, Bernie and Florence Danov. Survived by his wife of 57 years, Bobbi; daughters, Lisa (Timothy) Thoreson and Julie (Jonathan) Burbey; grandsons, Tyler and Cameron Burbey; his "little girl" Lexie; brother, Steven (Nancy) Levitan; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Richard and Dianne Danov; nephews and nieces, David (Tina) Levitan, Sara (Rusty) Booth, and Stacy (Dan) Johnson; and many dear family and friends. Lee was born and grew up in St. Paul, attended Central High School, and earned his Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota in experimental psychology. He spent a year as an adjunct professor of psychology at the University of Minnesota – Morris. He had a long career at Honeywell as a project manager. Then he spent many years doing volunteer career counseling and took pride in the countless people he helped. He and Bobbi built a loving home, always centered around his daughters and especially around his grandsons and all of their activities. They were his pride and joy. He loved holiday gatherings and dinners with his kids and grandkids, often followed by game-playing. He had an extra special relationship with his son-in-law, Jon. Lee was well known by everyone for his sense of humor, his passion for animals and nature, and his commitment to making people laugh. He lived his life dedicated to family, continuous learning, and his Jewish faith. Graveside Service 12:00 PM, MONDAY, September 29th at Chesed Shel Emes Cemetery, 1600 Christie Pl, St. Paul, 55106.
