Lee Oneby Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Rundus Funeral Home & Crematory on Dec. 30, 2025.
Beloved husband, brother, uncle, and friend, Lee Oneby went home to be
with the Lord on December 26, 2025. Born in Chicago, Illinois, Lee was the
youngest of three children born to James and Vivian Oneby, with two older
half-brothers from his mother's previous marriage. Lee will be remembered
for his quiet wit, dry sense of humor, and love for his family and country.
Lee was drafted into the Army for the Vietnam War in October 1967, and
was instead sent to Stuttgart, Germany as a Surgery Assistant for the next
two years. Upon discharge in October 1969, Lee moved to Burbank,
California, where he worked as an Orderly at St. Joseph's Hospital and then
became a Respiratory Therapist (RT). Lee worked as an RT at a few hospitals
and, finally, at Kaiser Woodland Hills, where he worked until his retirement in
August 2013.
In 1985, Lee was working at Mobile Medical, and Pam was sent there on a
two-week assignment. They met, fell in love, and were married on
September 9, 1989. They loved their life together, especially traveling to
many European countries, exploring quaint towns, and indulging at local
coffee shops and antique stores. Recently, they celebrated their 36th
wedding anniversary at Estes Park, one of Lee's favorite places in Colorado.
Lee's special interests were cars and music, building model cars since
childhood, and watching Indy Car & Formula One. He listened to music
every day, usually while he and Pam worked on a puzzle before dinner. The
Beatles were his favorite out of his impressive CD & vinyl collection.
Lee is lovingly remembered by his wife, Pam, and brother, Jim, as well as
his sisters-in-law, Patty & Teresa, brothers-in-law, Dave & Brian, and so
many loving nieces, nephews, and great-nieces/nephews ("Uncle EEE!"). Lee
was a kind, gentle, funny, witty, compassionate man, and will be greatly
missed by ALL.
