Lee was born on February 7th, 1963, in Gunnison, Colorado. He died on September 15th, 2025, in Paonia, Colorado. Lee grew up in Granby, Colorado. After graduation, he joined the Marines, where he served his country with honors. After serving, he returned to Granby, where he started logging. He then moved to the western side of the state, where he worked for the Mosquito District.
Lee loved music, reading, making rockets, and the outdoors, where he loved to camp and watch his grandkids fishing.
Lee is survived by his wife, April Owsley. His sister Darlene Sanders, children Sasha, Annalee, Zach, Hazel and Alaina. Grandchildren Ava, Jonnie, Serenity, Riley, Harper, and Brooks. Three nephews Will, Ivan and Jimmy Dale, and two nieces, Lea and Michaela. Great nieces & nephews Mercedes, Aero, Liam, and Cora. Brothers by heart Gary Barry, Tim Smith and Dan Rust. And two sisters by heart Heather Maynard and Kelly. Two aunts Leona Hamilton and Linda McIlraith, and many cousins.
Lee was greeted by his parents, Carol and Jimmy Owsley, and a brother, Timmy Owsley. Two uncles Leroy Owsley and Ray Champlin and by his Grandparents.
There will be a small family gathering in the Summer of 2026 to celebrate Lee’s life.
