Lee Roy Romero, age 83, of Quincy, died on Wednesday, November 12, 2025. He was born on October 22, 1942 in Abbeville, LA.

He served in the United States Air Force from 1960 6 1964. He married Frances Cooper on March 10, 1977. She survives. He was of the Methodist Faith.

Lee Roy was a heavy equipment operator for the City of Groves, Texas. He later became the warehouse manager for the city.

Lee Roy collected hot sauce and hot peppers.

In addition to his wife, Lee Roy is also survived by:
A SON: Jason Romero (Shannon)
A GRANDSON: Alex Romero
TWO STEP-SONS: Trey Grubbs (Amber) of Quincy and Bryan Grubbs of Bellingham, WA.
STEP- GRANDCHILDREN: Jeremy Grubbs, Meagan Puckett (Stone), Brenna Childs (Trenton) and Aubrie Bertram (Jake); Mason Grubbs and Sully Grubbs.
6 GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN
A brother Preston Romero (Joan)
A half brother: Doug Istre (Jean)
Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

Lee Roy was preceded in death by his father, Harrison Romero and his mother Anita Instre.

Cremation rites have been accorded and no formal services are planned at this time. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
