Lee Paul Schleicher, 92, of Catasauqua, PA, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 26, 2026. He was born on July 6,1933, to the late John David and Sadie Florence (nee Krause) Schleicher.

He was a 1953 graduate from Catasauqua High School where he enjoyed being a part of the football team.

Well-known in his hometown for his community service, Lee loved beekeeping and worked as a beekeeper for over 50 years. Lee retired as a locomotive engineer on the Philadelphia, Bethlehem and New England Railroad. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War with the rank of Special Second Class (Heavy Equipment Operator).

Lee and his wife Carolyn (nee Snyder) were married for 64 years. Together the couple enjoyed dancing, bowling, and in their younger days they camped and hiked. Both were dedicated gardeners and shared their harvest with family, friends, neighbors and surrounding places of worship.

He was a faithful congregation member of the former St. Paul's Lutheran Church, and a member of Holy Trinity Memorial Lutheran Church, Catasauqua, PA. For many years he served as a Committee Chairman for the Boy Scouts of America–Minsi Trail Counsel, Troop 94. In 1984, he received the Silver Beaver Award for his service. In 1994, he was bestowed The Lutheran Lamb Award by the National Lutheran Association on Scouting through St. Paul's Lutheran Church.

Lee was also a Life Member of Odd Fellows Jordan Lodge Post 192, Schnecksville, PA. He was also President and later President Emeritus of the "Krause Family Reunion" that celebrates annually the unity of family and friends, now in it's 114th year.

Lee was a former member of the MORA Club (Men of Retirement Age) and sang with the men's chorus for many years, a member of the Young at Heart Club Catasauqua, the Copeechan Fish and Game Club, the Coplay Saengerbund, the American Legion Post 215 where he was a former member of the Honor Guard, and the Sons of the American Revolution. Both Lee and wife Carolyn received the Honorable Lifetime Membership Award from the Lehigh Valley Beekeeper's Association.

Lee was preceded in death by his beloved wife Carolyn R. (nee Snyder) and granddaughter Rebecca Ann Brown, and siblings Arthur Schleicher, Lena Steckel, and Elsie Mascali. He is survived by his sister Louise Lessel, and his children, Karen A. and husband John Patton of Glenside, PA; David P. and his wife Laurie Schleicher of Sykesville, MD; and Carol L. and her husband Perry Good of Lititz, PA; grandsons, Joshua Good, wife Alissa; Brenden Good, wife Erin; Dawson Good, wife Jayda; and four great grandchildren.

A viewing will be held on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, from 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm at Brubaker Funeral Home, 234 Walnut St, Catasauqua, PA.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at 11:00 am with a viewing from 10:00 am until time of service at Holy Trinity Memorial Lutheran Church, 604, 4TH St, Catasauqua, PA. Interment to follow at Fairview Cemetery.
