Lelia was born on June 8, 1942, to Owens "Blue" and Berdie Mae (Brown) Thompson. Though an only child, she was surrounded by a large and loving extended family. In Braggs OK, Lelia attended Blackjack Church and Howard Chapel School until the seventh grade then moving to Muskogee, she attended Cannon church, Sadler and Manual Training High School "Class of 1962"
In the early 1960's Lelia moved to Oklahoma City OK where she met and fell in love with James Elbert Fullbright Jr. Missing the closeness of her parents James and Lelia decided to move back to
Muskogee, OK to raise their family. Lelia became a devoted member of the Church of Christ, where she remained faithful until her health began to decline. Brother Rodgers and members was a constant source of comfort, often visiting her with kind words and her favorite-hot fried fish and Sunday meal.
Lelia was well known in her community for her many talents and acts of service. She loved to cook and was famous for her brown beans, peach cobbler, fried chicken, cornbread, BBQ, and those good ole Indian tacos that everyone looked forward to. Through Lelia's Chuck Wagon, she shared her love for food and fellowship with her community, often serving up plates that felt like home especially to the crew that always cleaned the Rolland Cemetery in Braggs for Memorial Day. She cared for children as both a neighborhood and family daycare provider and worked as a commercial chauffeur for DuBois School in Summit, Oklahoma. She also offered private duty care as a nurse aide and home health provider, sold T-shirts, casual and formal wear through her home business, LA Fashions, and cooked for the Muscogee Creek Nation Head Start Program. Lelia was known for keeping up with all the news-whether around town or within the family, watching her favorite basketball team Oklahoma City Thunder she loved to step out in one of her elegant suits with the matching hat cocked to the side, -but above all, she cherished her role as a wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker.
