Leila Gilbeau Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by San Andreas Memorial Chapel on Feb. 12, 2026.
Lelia "Lee Ann" (Fischer) Gilbeau
Our beloved Lee Ann (Fischer) Gilbeau, 72, of San Andreas passed away suddenly onSaturday, February 7th following a courageous battle with cancer. She is survived by herdevoted husband, Frank Gilbeau, who she built a life together with over 53 years ofmarriage. A partnership founded on true love, they stood by each other's side as ranchers and co-owners of Gilbeau Crane Service. Lee Ann tirelessly devoted her time to her friends and family, including raising two daughters who are forever grateful for the love and wisdom she shared so generously.
Lee Ann was raised in Mokelumne Hill as the fifth generation of a pioneer family who had planted roots in Calaveras County during the Gold Rush. She grew to be a talented cowgirl, photographer, gardener, and Bunco player, and served as the leader of the San Andreas 4-H Club for many years. Lee Ann was always happy to open her home to guests where she showcased her creative and warm style and created so many memories.
Lee Ann will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate to walk some of this earth with her spirited soul. Lee Ann was preceded in death by her father, Leland, and brother, Harlan Fischer. She is survived by her husband, Frank; mother, Roberta Fischer; daughters Jessica (Ryan) Hansen and Bryanna (Colin) Ryan; grandchildren, Collette and Curtis Hansen, and Eli and Lilah Ryan; brother Merle (Siobhan) Fischer; nieces Nicole (Ricky) Erickson and Callie (Tyler) Inwood; nephew Justin Fischer; four grandnieces; and many dear relatives and close friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 28 at 11am at the San Andreas
Town Hall and, in the spirit of how Lee Ann loved to share life's moments with others, friends and family are welcome to join.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Red Barn Museum, Calaveras
Historical Society, or other organization devoted to preserving local history.
Online condolences can be made at https://www.dieboldfuneral.com/. Funeral arrangements were trusted to San Andreas Memorial Chapel, 254 West St. Charles PO Box 328 San Andreas, CA 95249, (209) 754-3361.
