Leila Heathcoe Obituary
Marie was of the Methodist faith and proudly accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior in 2023. Her faith brought her peace and purpose, and she lived each day with grace and gratitude. Music was the backdrop of her life-her home often filled with the sound of her voice singing the hymns and songs she loved so dearly.
Marie cherished her role as a mother and grandmother above all else. She is survived by her loving mother, Helen Heathcoe; her devoted daughters, Samantha Kennedy (Adam), Erica Heathcoe, and Willie Jean Mooney; her grandchildren and one great-grandchild; and her siblings, Anita Blackwell, John Heathcoe, Thomas Heathcoe, and Paul Heathcoe.
She is preceded in death by her daughters, Selena Simmons and Heather White; her father, Thomas Heathcoe; and her brother, Stephan Heathcoe.
A memorial service to celebrate Marie's life will be held on Saturday, May 31st, 2025, at 2:00 PM at McLaurin Methodist Church. Friends and family are invited to gather in remembrance of a beautiful soul who left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew her.
Marie will be deeply missed but forever remembered with love.
