Leinora Sailas

Leinora Sailas, age 56, of Austin, Minnesota, and formerly of Pohnpei, Micronesia, passed away on Saturday, April 15, 2023, at Mayo Clinic Hospital Rochester, Methodist Campus. Leinora Dakanno was born on June 23, 1966, in Pohnpei, Micronesia, to Epiner and Eliji (Welles) Dakanno. She attended Micronesian Occupation College and graduated with a degree in Business. Following graduation, Leinora worked as a secretary for Pohnpei Port Authority. In 1996 she was united in marriage to Daniel Sailas. Leinora was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Pohnpei. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, arts and crafts, and playing volleyball. Leinora will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Leinora is survived by her children, Darrin Sailas, Donald (Lucinda) Sailas, and Cindy (Mixon) Kato; grandchildren, Leighann Sailas, Eiko Sailas, Gelona Kato, and Joyeux Kato; siblings, Larry (Genevieve) Dakanno, Bill (Marlene) Dakanno, Jami (Grace) Dakanno, Rick Dakanno, Jin Dakanno, Mamlynn (Jeffrey) Sailas, and Mildred (Vincent) Soram; and many nieces, nephews, aunties, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Epiner and Eliji; and husband, Daniel.
The funeral service for Leinora will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 28, 2023, at Worlein Funeral Home Chapel in Austin. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Worlein Funeral Home of Austin is assisting the family with arrangements.
