LeMayne Dingus, 93, of Martin, passed away Thursday, August 14 at Our Lady of the Way Hospital. He was born on February 23, 1932 at Alphoretta, KY, the son of Reynolds James and Addie Mae Hall Dingus. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

LeMayne was preceded in death by his wife; Phyllis Jean in February 2025, two brothers; Jackie Grable Dingus in 1996 and James Douglas Dingus in 2006.

He is survived by his daughter; Keesha Averett, Martin, KY, two grandsons; Nick Lawson (Brittani), Benton, LA, Scott Lawson (Cecilia) Elko, NV, one sister; Lesia Dingus, Martin, KY. Also surviving are his great-grandchildren; Greyson Beau Lawson, Makenzie Rees, Olivia Jean Lawson and Kenneth Lazarus, two nephews; Keith Reed Dingus, Kent Reed Dingus and other close family.

LeMayne graduated from Martin High School in 1951 after serving as President of his senior class. He served as a Corporal in the US Army from 1951 to 1954 beginning his career in Ft. Bragg, NC and also serving at Pope Air Force Base among several others. He graduated from Eastern State College, Richmond, KY in 1957 with an education degree and moved to Cincinnati, OH to teach high school. While teaching there he began 'The Upstairs Gallery," an art gallery, that he ran for 7 years. He operated a paint shop in Martin in 1970 and started "Frameworks" shortly after where he did premium custom picture framing for many people in Floyd County until the late 1980's.

In 1972 LeMayne married Phyllis Jean Boggs on September 9, 1972 in Clintwood, VA, where they began a 53 year life together until her passing. The love they shared for each other was unmatched.

LeMayne enjoyed cars, art, traveling reading, photography, but most of all family. He was dedicated to those close to him and demonstrated the love for a good joke because 'laughing' was what he enjoyed most in life.
