Lena Cowan Obituary

Lena D. Cowan, 85, of Charleston passed away May 18, 2024.

Lena was born March 19, 1939 in Johnson City, Tennessee to the late Albert R. and Roxie Estep.

In addition to her parents, Lena was preceded in death by her sisters, Constance "Connie", Jewell and Margaret Ann; grandson, Brandon; and her Beloved husband of 62 years, Roy Dale Cowan.

Survived by sons, Ernest (Sue) of Florida, and Phillip (Karen) of Alabama; grandsons, Phillip, Matthew, and Thomas of Alabama; 4 great-grandsons, and 2 great-granddaughters; step-grandchildren, Brandon, Bianca, Brentson, and Blake; 4 step great-granddaughters, and 2 step great-grandsons of Florida; and best friend and brother, Tommy Ray Estep of Charleston.

She dearly loved her family and missed her husband more every day.

Final resting place for Lena and Roy Dale is at Happy Valley Memorial Park in east Tennessee.

The family is being served by Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home 1325 W. Washington Street, Charleston.

I helped Roy and Lena with their taxes and became good friends for many years. I am so sorry to hear of her passing, I spoke to her just a few weeks ago and had no idea this would happen so soon. Its good to know she and Roy will rest together. So sorry for the family's loss.
