Lena Karageorge

Lena Karageorge passed away peacefully in her home in Falls Church, Virginia on June 6, 2025, surrounded by her children and devoted caregivers. She was 93 years old.

Lena was born on July 23,1931 in Greece and immigrated to the United States with her parents and five sisters. Lena was a homemaker, raising her three daughters and doing everything for the well-being of the family.

Lena was predeceased by her beloved husband of 59 years Paul Karageorge and her dear daughter Stella Karageorge.

She is survived by two daughters Helen (George) Kapetanakis and Effie Apostolou, five grandchildren, Angela (Dave) Pishioneri, Constance Kapetanakis, Nick (Ellie) Kapetanakis, Alexander (Breanna) Apostolou, Eleni Apostolou, and four great grandchildren, Gianna, Dominic, Maverick, and Penelope.

Lena also leaves behind two sisters, Fay Makris and Thelma Hondros, and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on June 23, 2025 at 11:00 AM at St. Katherine Greek Orthodox Church, 3149 Glen Carlyn Road, Falls Church, Virginia. The funeral will follow and burial will be at National Memorial Park in Falls Church, Virginia at 1:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Saint Katherine Greek Orthodox Church.
