Lena Spera

Lena Spera, age 94, of Stoneham, passed away at the Lahey Clinic and Medical Center in Burlington on June 13, 2025. She was born in Naples, Italy on April 26, 1931 to the late Salvatore and Giulia Giordano.

Mrs. Spera was rasied in Italy before coming to the United States at the age of 26, first establishing in Cambridge. She had worked for and retired from Grieco Brothers, formerly of Stoneham, where she had been a seamstress. She was a Stoneham resident for more than 50 years and was a member of St. Patrick Church. Mrs. Spera was known for her love of cooking.

She was the beloved wife of the late Henry V. Spera. She was the loving mother of Emily T. Guarino and her husband Joseph of Stoneham. She was the sister of Bianca of Italy and the late Giuseppe, Antonio, Filomena and Argentina. She was the grandmother of Alesssandra Guarino and Alfonso Guarino; and the great grandmother of Kaleigh, Grady, and Audrey.

Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St., Stoneham on Friday, June 20 at 10am. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held prior to the mass at the McDonald-Finnegan-Anderson Funeral Home, 322 Main St., Stoneham from 8:30-9:30am. Interment will take place at St. Patrick Cemetery, Elm St., Stoneham.
