Vincent Anthony Spera, age 86, of Fayetteville,NC passed away peacefully in his home on November 21, 2025. Born on June 13, 1939, Vincent led a life rich with love, laughter, and dedication to his family and career.

Vincent graduated from Newark Vocational High School in 1957 and went on to pursue a successful career in the food industry. He began working part-time in supermarkets and gradually progressed to becoming a department manager. His journey took him from the stores to working as a broker for major food corporations, eventually becoming a self-employed business owner by purchasing his own distributorship route. Throughout his career, Vincent exemplified hard work and determination, qualities that inspired many around him.

A proud veteran, Vincent served in the U.S. Army. He was deployed to Vietnam, where he served with MACV, a commitment that reflected his unwavering sense of duty to his country. He fondly remembered his service and the camaraderie he shared with fellow soldiers while stationed on missile bases in the United States.

Vincent had a cherished love for family and leaves behind his beloved sons, Michael Emmons and wife Kimberly of Spring Lake, NC; Gene Spera and wife Catherine of York, SC; Garry Spera and wife Dottie of Hope Mills, NC; and Vincent Spera and wife Jody of York, SC. He was also a proud grandfather to Kaytee Lora of Vicenza, Italy; Karree Emmons of San Antonio, TX; Kristee Emmons of Fayetteville, NC; Anthony Emmons of Minneapolis, MN; Zachariah Spera of York, SC; Logan Spera of York, SC; Adriana Spera of York, SC; and Richard Babick of Clearfield, PA. Vincent was a great-grandfather to James Thomas, who brought him joy during his later years.

Vincent was known for his good sense of humor and his passion for cars, particularly detailing them. He was a huge New York Yankees fan, loved Italian food, and prized the simple pleasure of enjoying a fresh cup of "cough-eeee" (coffee)  with a generous amount of sugar. He delighted in making memories with his sons, from early morning cookie deliveries to watching drag races while sitting atop the roof of their van. His interests extended to collecting photos and showing off a vibrant display of pictures that represented his pride in his family.

In addition to his familial roles, Vincent's proudest accomplishments included refereeing basketball games—a testament to his love for sports—and the enduring bond he fostered within his family. He was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Joan Spera, and his sister, Jane Giordano.

Vincent Anthony Spera will be remembered not only for his contributions to his career but for the indelible mark he left on the hearts of those who loved him. His legacy of dedication, humor, and love for family will endure in the memories of all who knew him.
