Lena Will Stanley was born August 30, 1934, in Pulaski, Tennessee, to Inez Payne and Howard Kimbrough. She departed this earthly life on November 24, 2025. In addition to her mother and father, Lena was preceded in death by her daughter, Phyllis Booker; stepfather, Reverend W.A. Pryor; brothers, William Pryor and James Pryor; and sister, Ann Davidson.
Lena was employed in the dietary department at Vanderbilt Hospital and retired as a cashier in the cafeteria at Commerce Union Bank (now Nations Bank). She enjoyed family and faithfully attended family reunions across the country. She was the joy of her family when she attended graduations, weddings, and events of her children and grandchildren. She was a faithful member of the Saint James Missionary Baptist Church, attending
8 AM worship and Sunday School, and was a member of the Pastor’s Aid Committee.
While she will be greatly missed, cherishing her memory are her daughter, Denise A. Jenkins (Reverend Donald); son, William L. Stanley, Jr. (Shirlitha); grandchildren, Bryant Robinson, Brittany Jenkins Shell (Donnie), Jonathan Stanley; great-grandchildren, Gabrielle, Destiny, Bryant Jr., and Briley Robinson; devoted niece, Cynthia Walker; nephew, Otis Pryor; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and as well as the members of Saint James Missionary Baptist Church.
