Lennie Duncan, age 87, of the Grassy Creek Community, went Home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 31st, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. A native of Mitchell County, she was a daughter of the late Floyd and Lillie Pitman Pendley. She is also preceded in death by the love of her life of over 63 years, Lewis Duncan and also her sister, Wilma Henline and an infant sister, Mary Lou Pendley.
Lennie loved anything to do with flowers; she loved to plant them or just watching them grow. More than anything, she loved spending time with her great-grandkids. Lennie took a lot of pride in keeping a clean and tidy home. She would always like when family and friends would stop by for visits. Anyone that would come to visit her would always have to eat before they left. She loved feeding her guests. Lennie also liked making Christmas candy every year for all her family, friends and neighbors.
Surviving is her daughter, Bobbie Duncan; grandson, Coty Ledford and wife, Whitney Ledford; great-grandkids: Harper and Magnolia Ledford and a very special dog Toby. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 8th 2024 at 3 pm at Bear Creek Baptist Church. Pastor Brent Duncan and Pastor Bruce Cannon will officiate the service. Burial will follow in the Bear Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 until 3 pm prior to the service.
The family would like to say a special thank you to Hospice of the Blue Ridge for the special care and love given to Lennie and the rest of the family during this difficult time.
