Lennox Gordon Obituary

Published by Legacy on Jun. 6, 2023.
Our community sadly lost a pillar on Wednesday, May 24th, 2023, when Mr. Lennox C. Gordon Sr., born July 4th, 1955, favorably known as G, passed away. Born and raised in Spanish Town, Jamaica, he attended Gaynstead High School before he migrated to the United States. He then continued on to graduate from Eastside High School in New Jersey. He then went on to become a distinguished and decorated Veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving for 20 years in various locations around the world where he earned the title, Master Seargent.
"The Jamaican Posse" formed soon after when Dalton met this Little man with "A Big Broad Blue Caribbean Smile" who strutted in as if he owned the place. To the outside, he was known as Lennox Gordon, to "The Jamaican Posse"; Dalton, Lionel, Perry, Colin, and Doc, he was known as "Lenny G". They met 30 some years ago on a continent halfway across the world in South Korea and were inseparable ever since.
During his time with the Air Force Lennox Sr. was able to accomplish obtaining his MBA in Environmental Management and worked with NASA as a Space Shuttle Operations/Complex Senior Technician. He went on to work as a Safety Superintendent and Environmental Health & Safety Manager. He was a dedicated family man who married his high school sweetheart. He was most proud of his children's accomplishments and would act as if he'd won a prize whenever they accomplished something.
Lennox Sr is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Lavern Gordon, his children; Lennox Gordon Jr, Laurel Gordon-Ashraph, and Lex Gordon, along with their spouses and children. He is also survived by his stepfather; Richard Hyatt, brothers; Carl, Michael, and Richard, and his sisters; Denise, Karen and Rosie. He was preceded in death by his parents, Vern Hyatt and Laureston Gordon, sisters; Joan, Janet, Sheila, and brother; Locksey.
With their tremendous love for family and children, Lennox Sr. and his wife both opened their home and hearts to their brothers, sisters, and many children. He was a loving and caring father figure to both his children and others. He was always quick to impart wisdom on younger generations and was a stickler for all things education. His legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of everyone he interacted with as well as those he reached but never met.
