Lenny Esther Heidt, 55, of Fort Myers, Florida, a devoted mother and daughter and accomplished educator passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 17, 2026. She was born on February 10, 1970, in San Salvador, El Salvador and lived for many years in the Village of Lakewood, Illinois.
She earned her master's degree in education and devoted more than 15 years to teaching. Lenny began her career teaching elementary school ESL and later became a college professor, teaching a wide range of subjects in many places over the years, always forming lifelong friendships along the way.
Lenny was a vibrant, free spirit who always lived life to the fullest. A world traveler and collector of treasures from around the globe, she was always hopping on her next flight. She was an avid lover of sunsets and long morning walks, who never passed up a good deal. Lenny especially loved spending time with her children, son-in-law, and her many grandpets.
Lenny is survived by her children, Kelly Heidt (John Sickel) and Robert Heidt; her mother, Teresa Jimenez; her brother Rafael Jimenez; her brothers-in-law, John Heidt, Paul Heidt (Carrie McKeague), and William Heidt (Sotie); and her sisters-in-law, Cathy Savvas (Savvas) and Beth Praskwiecz (John). She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Kenneth Heidt.
