Violet E. Heidt, 90, of Bismarck, formerly of Driscoll, passed away on February 12, 2026.
Private family services will be held.
Violet was born on June 1, 1935, to John and Emma (Oberlander) Wolf in Kintyre, ND. She was the sixth of nine children. Violet and her family later moved to Robinson, ND, where she attended grade school through the eighth grade. She grew up on the family farm, where she learned the value of hard work at an early age.
In 1951, Violet met the love of her life, Earl. They were married on November 1, 1953, in Robinson. To this union, three children were born: Alan, Steven, and Tamara.
Violet was a devoted homemaker and worked alongside her family on the farm, helping milk cows and even running the combine. She later worked as a dietary aide at Golden Manor in Steele, ND, where she was employed for 10 years.
In 1999, Violet and Earl made the move to Bismarck.
Violet loved to cook and bake, and her family often said her cooking was exceptional. One of her most memorable dessert specialties was kuchen, known for its minimal crust and rich custard filling.
The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff at Baptist Health & Rehab for the compassionate care and support they provided.
Violet is survived by her husband of 72 years, Earl; children, Al (Margie) Heidt, Steve (Lori) Heidt, and Tammy (Rick) Kellam; grandchildren, Kristin (Derek) Weigel, Brandon Heidt, Trevor (Shanda) Heidt, Jason Heidt, Jasmine Heidt, Savannah Heidt, Tanner Kellam, and Robert (Kallie) Kellam; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; all of her siblings and their spouses; and two grandchildren, Chase and Derrick Kellam.
