LENORA JECKER

LENORA JECKER Lenora (Bongiovanni) Jecker, 99, took her last breath on earth and her first breath in heaven on December 25, 2025. She lived most of her life in Independence, Mo., and her last 12 years in Olathe, Kan. She had a lifelong passion for sewing that expressed itself in dress making and the creation of many small crafts. With her love of cooking, she provided Italian delicacies for many family weddings. She was employed in a variety of jobs throughout her life. When her children were still at home, she was secretary at St. Mary's High School in Independence. She was last employed as a credit manager at the Independence Examiner. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Lenora knew no stranger and was a great comfort to those she encountered. She was always willing to help others in some manner sharing her crafts, time, and encouraging advice. Lenora was a member of St. John Paul II Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard (1979) and is survived by her son, Gregory (Margie) Jecker, Stilwell, Kan.; daughter Deb (Jim) Summers, Elkhorn, Neb.; and son Matthew (Debbie) Jecker, Eureka Springs, Ark. She is also survived by her older sister Annabel McConachie, South Milwaukee, Wis.; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Services will be held at Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Olathe on Friday, January 2 with visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m., followed by Mass at 11 a.m. There will be a luncheon at the church after the service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. John Paul II Catholic Church, Phoenix Home Care and Hospice Company, and Prince of Peace Catholic Church.
