Lenore Allred Johansen
Lenore A. Johansen, 87, passed away at her home Friday, August 27, 2021. She was born November 14, 1933, in Spring City, Utah, the daughter of Reid H. and Anna E. Acord Allred.

She married her high school sweetheart, Jerald R. Johansen, March 9, 1956, in the Manti, Utah Temple. Together they created a full life of love, joy, and service.

Lenore grew up in Spring City, Utah, where she enjoyed being the little sister to her beloved older siblings. In Sanpete ("down home") she sang alto in a well-known quartet, attended dances at the town hall, and created lifelong friendships. She was intensely proud of her roots and returned as often as she could to share memories and grab a sip of water from the natural spring.

Lenore attended North Sanpete High School and Snow College and worked in Salt Lake City before she was married. Jerry's education and career in the Church Education System led the family to Idaho, California, and ultimately Ogden, Utah, where they remained for over 50 years.

Lenore's greatest joy was her home and family. She worked hard to ensure that her home was filled with warmth, love, music, and humor-and she never left the house with dishes in the sink.

Lenore was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in various positions throughout her life, including in Relief Society, Young Women, and Primary presidencies. She also enjoyed serving two missions and working in the temple with Jerry later in life. Never one to pass up a sign-up sheet, she could be counted on to help with anything from road shows to funeral luncheons, canning assignments to chapel cleaning. But her true gift was her faith in Jesus Christ and her practical ability to apply gospel principles in her everyday life.

Lenore loved people and was genuinely interested in the lives of others. With a twinkle in her eye and a witty remark, she could make anyone feel like an instant kindred spirit.
Children, grandchildren, and loved ones of all kinds will forever cherish her unfailing advice, Rook games, stories, handwritten cards, and unconditional love.

Lenore is survived by her children: Diane (C. Kimball) Bott, Alan J. (Christine) Johansen, Blake R. (Deborah) Johansen, Valerie (Mark) Kendell, Mark R. (Jill) Johansen, Laura (Jed) Southwick; 20 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerald R. Johansen, and a grandson.

A Viewing for friends and family will be held September 1, 2021, 9:30-11:00 a.m. at the Old Post Road Meetinghouse: 5191 Old Post Road, Ogden under the direction of Leavitt's Mortuary.

Graveside service and interment will be held Wednesday, September 1, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. at the Mount Pleasant Cemetery. The service may be viewed at rasmussenmortuary.com live or for up to 60 days thereafter.

I so enjoyed meeting Lenore and visits from time to time; she was one of my favorite people. She grew up just thru my block in town and if I had lived here then we would have been close neighbors. I picture a great reunion with those on the other side -- husband, parents and so on!
