Lenore LaForest

Lenore Marie (Schelander) LaForest, 90, passed away peacefully on October 19, 2025 with her loving children by her side.
Lenore was born March 22, 1935 to Carl and Marie Schelander and was a graduate of Negaunee High School. She then married her husband of 64 years, Ronald LaForest. She was a devoted homemaker and also worked for the Marquette County Health Department as a vision technician for the schools.
Upon retiring, Lenore and Ron spent summers at camp in Gwinn and winters in St. Augustine, Florida. Lenore loved to read, knit, crochet, and her daily three o'clock coffee with her sister, Carol. She loved traveling and taking long rides with coffee and treat stops along the way.
Surviving are her children: David (Joseph), Anthony (Penny) and Terri (Dennis); eight grandchildren: Christopher, Jessica, Danny, Mike, Bryan, Danae, Sarah and Craig; fourteen great-grandchildren: Damien, Ava, Leah, Anastasia, Briella, Ebyn, Noi, Aubrey, Jada, Kinley, Jordyn, Lucus, Kamden and Lilliana; two sisters: Carol and Elizabeth 'Betty Ann'; along with several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ronald, in 2022; sister-in-law, Elizabeth 'Betty' (Wilfred 'Butch'); brothers-in-law: Terry, John 'Jack' and Albert (Margaret).

Visitation for Ronald and Lenore will be held at Koskey Funeral Home from 10-11 am on Saturday, November 1st with memorial services at 11:00 am officiated by Rev. Larry Van Damme. A luncheon will follow in the St. Paul Gymnasium. Interment will take place in the Negaunee Cemetery.
