Mary Ann LaForest (nee Pero) passed away peacefully in her sleep.
Born to Charles and Grace Pero in Detroit, Mary was raised within a large family in Lincoln Park, MI. On July 14, 1956, she married her sweetheart, Robert Henry LaForest.
Mary was a devout lifetime Catholic, active parishioner and choir member for many years at Our Lady of the Angels (formerly known as St. Cyril of Jerusalem) in Taylor, MI. Throughout her life she enjoyed traveling, gardening, reading, knitting, doing puzzles and listening to music. Mostly she was a proud Mom to her 3 sons and 2 daughters and a loving babysitting Grandmother/Great Grandmother to 13 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
Pre-deceased by her parents, husband, daughter Michele Blunk, sisters Lucille, Dorothy, Donna, Elaine; and brothers Chuck, Bill and Jim. Survived by her four children and sisters Char Dunnigan and Sr. Beth Pero.
Visitation will be Thursday, July 17th from 2:00pm - 8:00pm; Rosary at 6:30pm and sharing of memories from 7:00pm-8:00pm at Czopek Funeral Directors, 2157 Oak St., Wyandotte, MI. Celebration of Life Mass will be held Friday, July 18th at 11:00am (In-State at 10:30am) at Our Lady of the Angels Church, 6442 Pelham Road, Taylor, MI.
Please join the family after Mass for a luncheon at Our Lady of the Angels Parish Center.
Private interment of Mary's Cremains will take place at a later date. To plant a beautiful memorial tree in memory of Mary Ann LaForest, please visit our Tree Store.
